The Florida Division of Licensing regulates security training in the state. In order to work as an unarmed security guard in Florida, students must obtain their Class D Security License from an accredited provider. To work as an armed security officer in the State of Florida, a prospective employee needs a the D License and the Statewide Firearms G Course.
Students are required to complete 40-hour security training course at a licensed training center in Miami Florida in order to become ready for employment as a licensed security guard. Our Class D security training is conducted over a 4 day period. Additionally, our training center in Miami, Florida offers students the option of pushing certification with the American Heart Association for the CPR/AED Certification. By Obtaining the CPR certification the student leverages themselves better hiring opportunities.
In Miami, armed security guards must first obtain their Class D and then can complete the Class G Armed Security Guard Training. The G License requires a 28-hour course provided by Fast Guard Service LLC in Miami Florida. We also accept students from other cities including: Hialeah, Coral Gables, Doral, Homestead, Opa-Locka, Kendall, North Miami and Miami Beach.
G LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
Fast Guard Service’s Statewide Firearms “G” Course will teach students firearms safety, the principles of marksmanship, firearms mechanics and liability. Skill development shall include marksmanship fundamentals, loading and unloading, the 4-step draw and clearing malfunctions. All course materials will be in compliance with Florida Statutes 493 and Florida Administrative Code legal guidelines 5n-1.
The certificate of completion for completing this course will be submitted along with the Department of Agriculture, Division of Licensing’s, Statewide Firearms “G” License Application. When the student receives the Class “G” Security License he or she will then be able to work security or as a private investigator in an armed capacity.

- Bring a notepad, pen & highlighter for course notes
- No ammunition allowed in classroom, RANGE ONLY!
- No open shoes. Sneakers or boots only
- Long pants with strong belt – (i.e. jeans, duty or tactical pants) – *NO SHORTS OR SWEAT PANTS ALLOWED*
- Crew neck t-shirt, dress or polo shirt – *NO TANK TOPS OR LOW CUT SHIRTS ALLOWED*
- If you wear glasses please bring them to class
- Firearm (Available for rent $10)
- 150 rounds of ammunition (RANGE DAY ONLY)
- If you bring your own firearm you MUST have a min. of 3x Magazines (Semi-Auto) or 3x 6 Round Speedloaders (Revolver)
