Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office is seeking public help in identifying an individual suspected of stealing a vehicle containing two children in it, as deputies reported that an unknown suspect jumped into a white Mitsubishi parked on Northwest 50th Street and drove off, unaware that two young children aged 2 and 6 years were inside it.
The mother had briefly left their vehicle with the children inside, leading to the theft. Once realizing there were children present, the suspect abandoned it at Northwest 74th Avenue and 47th Street.
Deputies issued an alert to help locate the vehicle, and within an hour, a Virginia Gardens police officer located it approximately one mile from where it had been abandoned. Both children were safely recovered, but their suspect remains at large – authorities continue their investigation and urge anyone with information to come forward immediately.
