Authorities are reeling after a chilling development in the case of a pastor’s brutal crucifixion-style murder. The suspect, already in custody, was caught on video confessing that he had plans to kill 14 additional people in a series of premeditated attacks.
Disturbing Crime Shakes Faith Community
The original crime occurred last month when the beloved local pastor, known for his community outreach and decades of service, was found murdered in a grotesque imitation of crucifixion. His body was discovered bound and nailed to a large wooden structure near his church.
The arrest of a 33-year-old male suspect shortly after the incident brought temporary relief—until newly surfaced video evidence added a more sinister layer to the case.
Video Confession Reveals Kill List
According to police, the suspect recorded a video diary on his phone, which was uncovered during a forensic search of his belongings. In the footage, he calmly details the murder of the pastor and outlines a list of 14 other individuals he allegedly intended to kill.
“These people are chosen,” he says in the video. “I have a purpose, and they’ll understand when their time comes.” The individuals mentioned in the video include church leaders, former acquaintances, and community members.
Investigators believe the suspect may have been driven by a mix of personal grudges and radical beliefs, though a full psychological evaluation is still underway.
Authorities Boost Security for Potential Targets
Local law enforcement has notified the individuals named in the video and implemented protective measures. “This is one of the most disturbing cases we’ve encountered,” said the police chief. “We are doing everything in our power to ensure the safety of those mentioned.”
FBI and state authorities have joined the investigation due to the potential scale and premeditated nature of the plot.
Community in Shock and Mourning
The church community remains shaken. Vigils have been held in memory of the slain pastor, and faith leaders across the region have expressed support and solidarity.
“This was a man of peace and service,” said one churchgoer. “To lose him this way—and to know others were at risk—is heartbreaking.”
The suspect remains in custody without bail, facing multiple felony charges including first-degree murder and attempted conspiracy to commit murder. Further charges are expected as the investigation continues.
