Adrian Garcia, 25, who is accused of shooting his father during a domestic dispute in Miami is charged with attempted murder with firearm by Miami Police Department and further details have become public.
On Saturday morning, officers responded to a residence after receiving reports of accidental gun discharge, where they discovered an extremely chaotic environment and swiftly began collecting information about what had occurred.
On Friday evening, according to Garcia’s arrest report, she engaged in an argument over infidelity issues with him at home and heard an explosion; upon investigation she saw Garcia pick up an AR-15 rifle off of the floor before exiting from their residence with it in hand and drive off in another car. A witness at his residence who had recently had issues with Adrian Garcia had reported seeing Adrian pick up and leave quickly afterwards with another weapon from underneath their bed, although her involvement may have contributed.
As emergency responders rushed the injured man to a hospital, an eyewitness could be heard shouting orders for Garcia not to deny being responsible. Regardless, Garcia sustained severe injuries including cervical spine fracture and bleeding within his sternocleidomastoid muscle–both signs consistent with gunshot injuries to the upper body.
Authorities have not provided details regarding either victim or witness names in this incident, however Garcia was eventually located and detained without incident. While police have provided no specific reasons behind what transpired during this episode, evidence points towards it having an ongoing family conflict connection.
Investigation remains active and officials have yet to ascertain whether the firearm used for shooting has been recovered; Garcia remains detained awaiting court proceedings and subsequent court rulings.
