Early Monday morning, two people were shot and killed outside a food truck in northwest Miami-Dade; authorities are currently searching for their assailant. An argument escalated to this incident wherein three individuals were targeted by gunfire; according to Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office records, two individuals were struck.
Jeankerly Maria Linares Marin, 27, was fatally shot at the scene. A second victim, an unidentified male patient at Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center who later succumbed to his injuries, has also passed away from their wounds; authorities also confirmed that an attempt was made to target a third female but failed.
NBC6 news crews reported seeing yellow evidence markers marking bullet casings on the ground and police tape cordoning off an area as the investigation continued. A group of people could be seen embracing at the scene; their relationship to any victims wasn’t immediately evident.

One resident, Laquanna Jackson, reported awakening to gunfire but wasn’t initially aware of an incident. Investigators are still working to identify who shot at them and any potential motives behind this act of violence; so far, there have been no arrests made, and the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office urges anyone with information to come forward immediately.
