Derek Rosa of Hialeah, Florida, was charged with first-degree murder after confessing to killing his mother at age 13. While being held at MetroWest County Jail as an adult facility until the trial is set. Rosa, now 14, may have another suspect as part of their defense team.
Rosa called Hialeah police to report stabbing his 39-year-old mother Irina Garcia with a kitchen knife on March 10, 2023.
