Tampa Mother Killed in Crash After Driver Speeds Over 100 MPH

Paige Howard, 26, mother of four from Tampa was tragically killed on January 3 in a crash near the Department of Motor Vehicles when her vehicle collided with Gary Manist’s pickup truck from Pasco County – driving at over 100 mph in an otherwise 45 mph zone; witnesses could barely comprehend its danger at that speed.

Howard was making a left turn onto Bougainvillea Avenue when the collision took place near Busch Gardens on McKinley Drive near Orlando. Witnesses reported hearing Manist accelerating when traffic lights changed, striking Howard’s car with such force that she succumbed instantly, leaving behind anguished family members behind.

Authorities confirmed Manist was driving at speeds well exceeding the posted limit; her mother Jessica Wiggins expressed her sorrow over what occurred, calling attention to speeding violations on roads which may lead to deadly results.
