Boynton Beach police killed a man armed with a machete who charged at officers while charging through a park over the weekend, officials announced.
Boynton Beach Police officials reported that an incident took place early Saturday morning as officers responded to a domestic dispute involving a father and his adult son at 600 Northeast 20th Lane, according to Boynton Beach officials.
At Intracoastal Park, police encountered an individual involved in a dispute who was brandishing a machete and ordered him to surrender his weapon.
Police stated that when asked by officers if he wanted them to fire their weapons, he refused and instead, was seen charging at them with his machete, police reported.
Officers opened fire, striking the man before administering aid and transporting him to a nearby hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Edenson Jules was identified as 31 years old.
Police on Monday released footage of Jules’ fatal encounter, showing him running towards an officer’s car wielding a machete before multiple officers demanded that he drop it.
