On Thursday, a Miami social media model charged in the fatal stabbing of her partner in 2022 returned to court as her attorneys attempted to have Miami-Dade prosecutors removed from the case.
Courtney Clenney’s lawyers presented arguments why the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office should be disqualified, alleging they accessed confidential communication in violation of confidentiality agreements.
Clenney’s lawyers want the entire prosecutor’s office dissolved from this case.
But the state attorney’s office argued they should remain on the case, asserting that a judge shouldn’t punish their office due to one prosecutor’s wrongdoings.
Next month, the judge is expected to render his verdict. If they side with Clenney, another county’s prosecutors may take over prosecution duties.
