Joel Ricardo, 38, from Miami, has been charged with vehicular homicide following a fatal head-on crash that claimed two lives last month at approximately 9:30 pm on February 4th. Bairon Omar Garcia Bol and Marta Isabel De Leon Lopez died instantly, as per Florida Highway Patrol reports; at that moment, Ricardo’s Ford Expedition had reached speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour just seconds prior to impact.
At Bird Road and Southwest 88th Court, an accident occurred. Garcia Bol was driving his Toyota Corolla with his wife as passengers when they attempted a left turn. Ricardo’s Ford Expedition collided with it head-on at “extremely high rates of speed,” according to its arrest report.

Surveillance cameras captured both vehicles rotating before impact, and Ricardo’s reckless driving was ultimately responsible for their deaths, prompting charges against him for vehicular homicide in a reckless manner. Ricardo remains under arrest while authorities gather more evidence related to this crash.
