Man Charged in Drive-By Shooting That Killed 3-Year-Old Boy

Tyler Tyrone Hollins, 20, appeared in court Monday to face charges related to the drive-by shooting that resulted in the death of 3-year-old Rylo Yancy in Fort Lauderdale last July 21. Hollins is charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a delinquent adult felon. Yancy was fatally shot during the drive-by shooting, which took place July 21, 2024.

Court proceedings revealed a conflict in Hollins’ legal representation, while the judge noted there was no probable cause to proceed as no witness list had yet been filed. Regardless, Hollins entered his own not-guilty plea on his behalf and will return for another appearance next week without being permitted bond release.

Recently, Hollins was indicted by a grand jury in connection with Rylo Yancy’s death. Before this case began, he had previously been arrested in December on charges of grand theft after allegedly taking part in the theft of an expensive BMW from Sunny Isles Beach home on Thanksgiving Day. Hollins’ legal proceedings are ongoing as authorities strive to bring justice for Rylo’s family. Contact us for PERSONAL SECURITY SERVICES  today
