Man Arrested in Texas for Killing Girlfriend in Miami-Dade

Authorities arrested 19-year-old Miami Gardens resident Elijah Clarke of Texas following allegations he shot and killed 20-year-old Delilah Ruiz over the weekend in northwest Miami-Dade. Clarke had been on the run with two others prior to being apprehended, according to deputies’ announcement Wednesday.

On Saturday evening at Ruiz’s home in Miami-Dade County’s unincorporated Country Club area, Clarke and Ruiz became involved in an altercation over money before Clarke fired shots towards Ruiz just before 8 p.m. Christopher Valdes was then seen driving Clarke away in a vehicle driven by him before leaving the scene alone.

Authorities responded swiftly and transported Ruiz to Memorial Regional Hospital, where she was later declared dead despite all medical attempts. Clarke managed to flee Florida but was captured later along with two unidentified individuals in Texas; Valdes, her getaway driver was later apprehended in South Florida by deputies.

Authorities are conducting further inquiries into this incident, seeking further details regarding the suspect’s escape and any individuals who might have assisted with his flight. Contact us for PERSONAL SECURITY SERVICES Today!
