At least one person was fatally wounded by a stabbing incident in Southwest Miami-Dade on Saturday and was hospitalized before Jorge Pau-Figueroa, 33-years old and accused of second degree murder and attempted second degree murder by police, was arrested Monday according to Miami-Dade Sheriff Office reports. Pau-Figueroa’s next court date will likely occur next week according to records maintained by M-DSO.
This incident happened near a TD Bank on Bird Road and Southwest 112th Avenue. Authorities responded after receiving reports that someone armed with a knife was present; when deputies arrived they discovered two male victims with stab wounds who needed medical assistance.
One victim was transported to hospital in stable condition while another one was admitted with critical wounds; unfortunately despite our best efforts at saving him he eventually succumbed to them and passed away due to them. Law enforcement authorities have not released names or details regarding either victim.
An arrest report indicated that Pau-Figueroa knew both victims, as all three men engaged in an argument before initiating an assault against each other. Unfortunately, details surrounding this discussion remain undisclosed to the public.
Authorities continue their investigation as they attempt to ascertain exactly what caused a fatal altercation and who may or may not have been involved.
