An arrest has been made following an early Wednesday morning double stabbing incident that resulted in one fatality and left another seriously wounded at Sunrise, Florida’s 3000 Northwest 130th Avenue near The Retreat at Sawgrass Village and across from Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise. This assault led to one person dying immediately, while another sustained severe injuries before succumbing.
Jackson Julian Sagesse was arrested later that same day and is currently being held at Broward County Jail on charges of both premeditated murder and attempted felony murder, according to jail records.
Sunrise Police responded to reports of a stabbing at Sunrise Avenue and found two victims suffering serious injuries; one, later identified by family as 27-year-old Hailey Hosford, was later confirmed deceased; meanwhile, the second patient has been hospitalized – their condition has yet to be revealed publicly.
Residents at an apartment complex reported seeing a body in the parking garage before law enforcement arrived at the scene, suggesting attacks may have taken place there. Video footage captured from this incident indicated a heavy police presence there and suggests attacks occurred there as well.

Hailey Hosford, an esteemed stylist and entrepreneur, will always be remembered by family and friends as a vibrant and talented individual. “This tragedy is beyond tragic; no family would wish this upon any of them… This situation seems senseless to us all.” Authorities are yet to ascertain a motive behind the attack and continue their investigation, though information regarding any ties between the suspect and the victims has yet to be made available by police.
