At about 7 am on June 23, a beachgoer walking along Venice Beach noticed what appeared to be human remains washed up on shore – severed legs located near less crowded sections of Venice Beach – that had washed ashore from some unknown source. After immediately notifying local authorities and emergency services of his/her discovery, the LAPD responded rapidly by providing aid and services.
Once at the scene, officers verified that the remains were human legs. Due to the severe decomposition of legs that had been submerged for some time in the water, investigators do not suspect any wrongdoing.
