Lauderhill police are conducting an investigation of a shooting which injured a woman on Monday evening along Northwest 54th Avenue at approximately 7 p.m. A group of teenagers arrived and attempted to initiate physical altercations between themselves and residents already present before someone in their group pulled out a firearm and opened fire, striking one woman during this confrontation.
After being hit in a shooting incident, one victim was quickly transported to a nearby hospital for non-life-threatening injuries that are expected to heal within weeks. Authorities have yet to identify who fired the weapon nor establish why this shooting took place.
Police have initiated an ongoing investigation to ascertain who fired the weapon and why an altercation escalated into violence.
