On Thursday evening in Miami, an engaging police chase led to the arrest of 19-year-old Calvin Navarro and the recovery of a gun stolen earlier. This event unfolded when the Miami Police Tactical Robbery Unit noticed Calvin Navarro driving a white Mercedes-Benz SUV near Northwest Seventh Avenue and 67th Street shortly before 8 p.m. This car matched perfectly with one involved in an earlier robbery at the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Intracoastal District.
Police initially attempted to stop Navarro’s vehicle. Still, she fled, leading officers on a chase that ended in Brownsville and ended with him being arrested and charged with numerous offenses including possession of short barrel rifle or machine gun, third degree grand theft firearm theft, fleeing and eluding, among others.
Police confirmed during his arrest, a stolen gun was located from Navarro’s vehicle and recovered as evidence against him for criminal charges that are now facing – further complicating this already complex situation. Jail records show he is currently facing these serious charges as well.
