Flames consume, destroy apartment in Lauderdale Lakes

A fire broke out early Monday morning in Lauderdale Lakes, destroying an apartment near the 2000 block of Somerset Drive. Neighbors were alerted by banging on their doors when flames spread rapidly through an apartment near them; according to one neighbor, the blaze started on someone’s balcony before spreading quickly through their apartment complex, prompting many to run outside with belongings in hand as quickly as they could in order to salvage what they could before it all burned down completely

At this point, it remains unknown if anyone was injured in the fire, with authorities currently investigating to ascertain its source. Residents were left shaken following this event, and disruption caused by it has left residents angry and disturbed. Unfortunately, officials have yet to release more details or provide more answers about what may have caused it.
