BREAKING: Maryland school shooting stopped by ARMED SECURITY GUARD!

According to the NY Post, a school shooting in Maryland was stopped in it’s tracks this morning when a trained “School Resource Officer” shot and killed a student who had shot two other students in a hallway.

Here’s the important details from the NY Post:

The gunman entered Great Mills High School around 8 a.m. — just before classes began for the day — and shot a female student in the hallway, St. Mary’s County Sheriff Tim Cameron said.

A male student was also struck by the shooter, who also attends Great Mills.

The shooter was wounded during an exchange of gunfire with a trained school resource officer, who is an armed deputy sheriff, but died at 10:41 a.m. at the hospital, Cameron said.

One of the injured students is in critical condition and the other is stable. The SRO was not injured.

The relationship between the gunman and students and motive are under investigation.

“You train to respond to this and you hope that you never ever have to,” Cameron told NBC4.

“This is the realization of your worst nightmare — that, in a school, that our children could be attacked. And so as quickly … as that SRO responded and engaged, there’s grievous injuries to two students.”

Cameron said the next phase is the investigation to see how this student was able to acquire the gun.

“Now begins the second phase of this operation, and that’s the background and the investigation and the attempt for the school to return to normal,” he said.

The key point I’d like to make about this shooting is that there was a TRAINED, ARMED security guard on officer who prevented this shooting from being just 2 people injured to maybe 15-20 dead.

Police officers arrived quickly, but the armed guard was already on campus and was able to engage the shooter quickly and prevent him from causing any more injures.

Hopefully liberals start to see why we need ARMED SECURITY in our schools! We don’t want children to feel like they are in a war zone, but when tragedy strikes, we want to be prepared in any way we can.
