Gayle Blount was shocked and dismayed when a Miami-Dade jury cleared him of attempted first-degree murder and the use of deadly missiles in the 2021 shooting of Bridget Knighton at her Miami Gardens apartment building. Though he admitted firing multiple shots into her living quarters, Blount claimed it was done out of fear rather than malice.
Knighton testified during her trial that Blount violated a restraining order by visiting Knighton three times on May 21, despite legally being prohibited from doing so. On his third visit, Blount reportedly confronted Knighton which led to him firing his gun – although his defense claimed this action was motivated out of fear rather than the intention to harm.

This case ended abruptly when the jury delivered an unexpected verdict of not guilty on all counts against Blount, including attempted murder and shooting a deadly missile. This ruling caused shockwaves amongst witnesses as Blount had admitted firing at Knighton who survived the incident. Contact us for Incident Management Today!
