14-Year-Old Shot in Lauderhill Police Investigate Motive

On Monday morning in Lauderhill, Florida, a 14-year-old boy was hospitalized after being shot. Lauderhill Police responded to reports of gunfire near 1400 Northwest 58th Avenue, where officers discovered him suffering from gunshot wounds. After transport to Broward Health Medical Center, he is in stable condition.

One mother in Lauderhill expressed concern when her 14-year-old son wasn’t heard from on Sunday evening at his sleepover party at a duplex, and Lauderhill Police were still investigating it, as it remains unknown what prompted the shooting incident.

This shooting adds to a series of recent violent incidents involving teenagers in Lauderhill. Last April, a 16-year-old was injured after being shot on Northwest 27th Court; and last January a woman was hospitalized after she was shot during an altercation between teenagers on Northwest 54th Avenue – all raising serious concerns regarding youth violence in Lauderhill.

Authorities encourage anyone with information regarding this incident to reach out directly to either the Lauderhill Police Department or Broward Crime Stoppers by dialing 954-493-TIPS, as investigations remain active and residents await answers and possible measures that might reduce future incidents.
