Woman Charged with Murder in Death of Reporter Adan Manzano

A woman has been charged with second-degree murder in relation to the death of television reporter Adan Manzano, 27, found dead in his hotel room on February 5, 2019, in Kenner, Louisiana. Manzano worked for Telemundo out of Kansas City, Missouri, but was covering Super Bowl LIV in New Orleans then.

Authorities initially arrested 48-year-old Danette Colbert the day after Manzano died on suspicion of stealing his phone and bank cards, however during their ongoing investigation additional second degree murder charges have since been added against her and she remains jailed since her arrest.

Kenner Police Chief Keith Conley announced Colbert’s latest charge during a news conference held live online Tuesday. At the same time, 34-year-old Rickey White, suspected to be his accomplice, was arrested on theft and fraud charges related to this investigation in South Florida.
