Kris Bernabeu, 20, and Jonathan Fajardo, 18, from Miami were arrested after an altercation at Wendy’s Key Largo restaurant broke out Sunday afternoon and were charged with disorderly conduct, resisting an officer, disorderly intoxication, and disorderly conduct, respectively.
On Saturday night, deputies with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of an altercation at Wendy’s parking lot in Monroe. Witnesses claimed Bernabeu and Fajardo had been standing near the drive-through lane as the dining area closed down, during which they started an argument with people in another vehicle that quickly escalated into physical altercations. At one point during their confrontation, two individuals involved were carrying sticks. Following the battle, both fled but were quickly apprehended by deputies; no serious injuries were reported from this incident.
Both men were arrested and charged with the offenses listed by the authorities, although details about what caused the dispute or altercation remain unspecified. Their swift actions prevented further escalation in this incident; both suspects were taken into custody without incident.
