On Tuesday morning in Hobe Sound, Martin County, an unarmed bank robber fled with a large knife into a wooded area. He barricaded himself inside a home to barter for money at Seacoast Bank, located within a shopping plaza in Hobe Sound. At around 9:30 AM, the suspect approached a teller with their weapon brandished, demanding money. They approached another teller before fleeing with their knife and finally barricading themselves inside a house nearby.
As soon as he left the bank, the suspect noticed Martin County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) deputies nearby and immediately fled into nearby woods in an effort to avoid capture. To locate him quickly, law enforcement deployed air and ground units; eventually, deputies found their target, who fled into a nearby home, still brandishing his knife.
