On Wednesday night in Lauderhill, two individuals who fired upon law enforcement officers during a joint operation by members of Broward Sheriff’s Office Gang Investigations Task Force were arrested on attempted murder charges after shooting at them during their operation at Calypso Cay apartments located at 4100 NW 21st Street.
BSO officials reported that law enforcement was confronted by two armed individuals who pointed their guns directly at law enforcement. One BSO deputy identified himself as an officer and ordered both individuals to drop their weapons immediately. Yet, both refused and opened fire on law enforcement, prompting a return fire by law enforcement officers.
Tafari Elliot, 28, was shot during an exchange and remains hospitalised after facing charges related to attempted murder of law enforcement. Meanwhile, authorities are currently searching for another individual involved in the shooting who managed to flee the scene to apprehend that person.
