Opa-locka Police Hunt Robber Who Held Man at Gunpoint

Opa-locka police are actively looking for the suspect who held up a man at gunpoint while using an ATM at a Wells Fargo bank on Tuesday morning (February 3). The incident happened around 5 a.m. at 13100 NW 27th Ave location of Wells Fargo bank; after the victim reported his crime to the officers, they contacted him and received details on the suspect.

Police quickly began canvassing the surrounding area and located a suspect who fit the description provided by the victim near an apartment complex at 2700 Ali Baba Avenue. When officers approached him, however, he fled on foot. To prevent further escape attempts by him or others in his vicinity, police created a perimeter around that location to prevent his egress.

Law enforcement officials were present throughout the day in the area, continuing their search for and investigation of the robbery suspect, who remains at large. Police continue to gather more evidence to help identify and locate him.

This incident highlights ongoing concerns over crime in the area, and authorities are encouraging anyone with information about this robbery or the suspect’s whereabouts to come forward immediately.
