Police have confirmed that an 87-year-old woman reported as missing was found dead in a canal in Hialeah early Friday morning.
Hialeah police responded to West Fourth Avenue and 76th Street, where they discovered the body of a woman floating in the water; their reasons for her disappearance remain undetermined.
Authorities have stated that at this stage, no wrongdoing is suspected in her death; however, an investigation is currently being carried out to ascertain its causes and events leading up to it.
Sky 10 video footage captured detectives assessing the scene while officers placed a black tarp over the body and secured it with yellow crime scene tape to collect evidence.
Police have yet to identify or provide details regarding when or where this woman went missing before being found.
