Man Arrested for Armed Burglary and Assault in Bal Harbour

Police announced they had arrested a suspect accused of attacking a worker attempting to stop his theft of multiple vehicles from two Bal Harbour condo buildings while wielding a knife, according to reports from witnesses and workers at those buildings.

Jorge Issac Gonzalez-Cespedes, 31, was arrested Sunday on two charges of armed burglary, two of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, battery against someone 65 or over, as well as six of armed burglary of an occupied conveyance, grand theft, and criminal mischief according to Miami-Dade jail records.

According to police reports, two condominiums on Collins Avenue in Bal Harbour saw allegations on Thursday morning of suspicious incidents that may have taken place there.

According to reports, Gonzalez-Cespedes entered Bal Bridge North Condominium at 10240 Collins Avenue around 8 a.m. and entered through its main door.

He approached several vehicles and attempted to open door handles before being told by the property manager to leave. At that time, reports indicate, the suspect started screaming at them in Spanish, saying he would hit them before departing again, according to reports.

Gonzalez-Cespedes then pulled a sprinkler head with PVC pipe and hose attached from the ground and began swinging it while shouting in Spanish that he intended to hit his property manager, according to reports. Contact us for Construction Site Security Today!
