Barbara Price was fatally struck and left for dead while crossing North Powerline Road near Northwest 38th Street at 8 p.m. when a vehicle struck her and left without stopping to render aid. On Thursday afternoon, representatives from the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) along with family held a press conference seeking information regarding this tragic event.
Gary Price, Price’s husband of 37 years, expressed his sorrow by declaring, “I loved her.” Joel Ragland lamented the tragedy and noted how Price expected to provide care for him until his own passing rather than receiving care herself from others after her husband passed.
According to BSO officials, Price was standing outside her designated crosswalk when she was struck by what is believed to be a light blue 2005 to 2009 Land Rover Range Rover that fled after hitting her, throwing her from the roadway and eventually killing her.
