Police in southwest Miami-Dade County are currently conducting a fatal hit-and-run involving a bicyclist that occurred around 4:45 a.m. Friday near Southwest 147th Avenue and Southwest 206th Street. Officials reported that while riding north on Southwest 147th Avenue, he was hit by a vehicle driven by an unidentified male driver – unfortunately, resulting in his death at the scene. No identification information for this individual has yet been made public, though they were confirmed dead upon arrival at the hospital by medical personnel.
News outlets released aerial footage showing the victim covered with a yellow tarp near their bicycle on the roadway following an accident involving a silver SUV with visible front-end damage that remained on the scene after it collided. The driver of this SUV remained at the scene following this collision and did not flee.
