Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to reports of gunfire coming from a house hosting a fish fry social event and found one person dead and two injured, the BSO reports. It arrived around 12:30 a.m. when deputies received reports about gunshots coming from nearby.
Witnesses, who declined to appear on camera for this story, told NBC6 they heard gunshots coming from a party at which Antoninne Scotsman (33 years old and initially listed as alive on police reports) was attending. Deputies and fire rescue crews then found two men suffering gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported for medical attention; Antoninne Scotsman later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, where both suffered non-life-threatening wounds that will ultimately heal in time.
Authorities stated that an argument between several individuals at a party escalated into a shooting; there have been no other reported injuries as BSO works to identify all factors leading to this deadly confrontation.

Authorities have asked any witnesses with information to come forward as soon as possible to assist their investigation into this shooting. However, neither victim’s identity has yet been made known, nor have arrests been made for this act of violence at social gatherings. Such tragic events underscore the risks inherent to escalated conflicts that can quickly turn violent at unexpected moments during social interactions.
