Vital Joseph, 56 years old and living in North Lauderdale, was arrested by the Broward Sheriff’s Office over the weekend following two fatal stabbing incidents there. Joseph faces various charges such as first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and burglary with battery.
On Saturday evening in the 1800 block of Runners Way, deputies responded to reports of stabbings. When they arrived, they found two women suffering severe stab wounds who were transported for treatment at nearby hospitals. Maguy Pouye later succumbed to her injuries; Isabelle Joseph survived and continues her treatment at a nearby hospital.
Family members of the victims provided Ring camera footage to NBC6, alleging it shows an unknown suspect entering their home at around the time of the stabbing and leaving shortly thereafter. Authorities have yet to release an explanation, though further inquiries are underway into what led up to it. Joseph was taken into custody Saturday. It has not yet been verified if there is any relationship between him and Isabelle Joseph, though some officials speculate there might be.

This tragic attack has rocked North Lauderdale with grief as neighbors and relatives mourn Pouye’s passing while praying for Isabelle’s recovery.
