Miami-Dade deputies were shot dead during an exchange of gunfire with an individual wanted for murder on Monday evening at Extended Stay America Blue Lagoon when they attempted to apprehend him around 9:30 p.m. An exchange of gunfire followed and eventually caused his death at the scene, though authorities have yet to disclose any information regarding who it belonged to.
Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Detective Angel Rodriguez reported that no deputies or civilians were injured during the gunfire incident, nor were any other injuries reported to have resulted from it. Witness videos from the scene appeared to show what may have been a body inside a car parked nearby; further investigations revealed that the suspect was also involved in another double killing earlier that day outside a food truck at Northwest 27th Avenue and 30th Street.
Authorities continue their investigation of a shooting incident that resulted in the death of one suspect and are currently looking into further details surrounding his life and death.
