Jerimiah Ashley, 15, was arrested Monday evening for first-degree murder following a fatal shooting incident in Tarpon Springs on Monday evening. According to reports by the Tarpon Springs Police Department, Ashley was taken into custody at approximately 6:45 pm, less than 24 hours after it occurred.
At 8 pm in the 1300 block of Starlight Cove, officers discovered 36-year-old Candice Stinson unresponsive on scene and were unsuccessful in reviving her due to gunshot wounds; unfortunately, she succumbed, and police began their investigation, which led to Ashley being taken into custody as soon as possible.
Authorities remain uncertain as to the motive for Ashley’s shooting and are continuing their investigation of its circumstances. His arrest marked a swift response by law enforcement; however, further details on their relationship and any possible charges remain under examination.
